4th Berlin Forum on Chemicals and Sustainability: Finance for a Planet Free of Harm from Chemicals and Waste

7 October 2026 - online

The Berlin Forum on Chemicals and Sustainability is a high-level event initiated by the German Environment Ministry. It aims to raise political awareness and create momentum for a global response to the pollution crisis through stronger chemicals and waste management. It is organised in collaboration with the Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals, IOMC.

This year’s Berlin Forum will contribute to preparing the first International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals, scheduled for November 2026. It will be an excellent opportunity to discuss meaningful decisions on GFC implementation, to showcase progress made so far and to invite new actors to strengthen the global collaborative efforts to address the pollution crisis. The focus of this year’s Berlin Forum will be on leveraging public and private finance to support the implementation of the GFC.

The event will take place online from 13:00 to 17:00 pm CEST and consist of selected high-level contributions, as well as two thematic sessions on the topic of finance for chemicals management worldwide. Sessions will include contributions from senior representatives of multiple stakeholder groups in the form of keynote speeches, senior expert presentations, panel discussions, interactions with the audience, and closing reflections.

The Berlin Forum will be streamed live and can be accessed via the following link.

More information, including the detailed agenda, will be available soon.
